SHOW US YOUR KNOCKERS…..!
Now that we have your attention we also want to see your Handles, Hinges, Gate Latches etc.
Between now and the end of the year we will be searching for the oldest piece of working Kirkpatrick Ironmongery. We have been manufacturing in Walsall since 1855 and we believe that because of the high quality of our products there will be examples of our products still in situ and still working from the early 20th century and even from 19th century.
If you believe that you have one of our products which is still in regular use and that you can date it please take a photograph and send it to us. If you have details of when the product was purchased let us know. It may be, however, that you purchased a house with ironmongery already fitted. Again, if you believe it to be a Kirkpatrick product please send us an image with details.
The item may not be in our current range but we can authenticate it from our library of old catalogues.
We will be offering a prize of an iPad mini for the oldest authenticated product. It can be from a house, a gate, a stable, a church…..anywhere. Get snapping and help us find the oldest Kirkpatrick product.

As a start here are a few things from around our factory.
This Thumb Latch is on our casting stores and is probably from 1930's. There are signs of wear and our care instructions have not been followed to the letter(!) but its still working well even though it is over 70 years old.
From memory this door latch is probably 15 years old. OK, it has acquired a patina and lost a little paint but it is outside in the wind, rain, snow and whatever else the British weather can throw at it. Moreover, it is in constant heavy use each and every day. If we wanted to test a product to destruction this is where we would put it.
These door handles are on the front doors of our offices which were built in 1960. Owing to constant daily use they have acquired a unique patina.

Its always good to get a testimonial and here is one we received today:
"I first purchased Kirkpatrick's products for their quality, craftsmanship and value for money but have since been tremendously impressed by the firm's personal service and support. In this day and age of mass-market selling, it is heartening to know that businesses like Kirkpatrick still exist, who know their customers, provide quality service and make fantastic ironwork!"
Thanks TBP, we do our very best.

Although we employ traditional manufacturing methods we are always looking for ways to improve and make our methods more efficient. To this end we recently employed the services of PP Business Improvment from Cheslyn Hay to look at methods used in our assembly and warehousing operations. The project far exceeded our expectations and will lead to more efficient use of our resources in the future. Here is the team from Kirkpatrick Ltd who took part.
